all other records

This review and This other review  tell you the basic stuff and both writers are well informed however did you know the entire record was made at an artist run centre called "The Music Gallery" for $5 an hour on an old tascam (or teac?) 8trk. In total In Her Dream cost less than $1,000 to make. he sung into overhead drum microphones and used a "space station" for all room effects. The fellow who introduces him off the top of the record (ray) ran a coffee house in Toronto called "Fat Alberts", that only closed it's doors in September of 2003 after 30 years. Many great song writers got their shit together at Fat Alberts. Anhai, Sam Larkin, Kyp Harness, Sarah Spracklin, Ron Sexsmith & many others.

The cover painting is by Bob's mum  -bob never realized there was a third figure in                it until another painter friend  saw  it and remarked about the composition and emotion.                The Toronto  Star called it the best record of the year. Some trouble resulted from                one song entitled"rock and tree", which was about a conversation between a rock                and a  tree which related Salvadore Allende's murder in Chile in the early 1970's. One word in the lyrics  made Warner Brothers realize too late that they didn't want it out there for fear of a potential lawsuit so they destroyed the intial first pressing (maybe 1,000 copies) and Bob was told they would release the rest of it minus that song.Toronto has an annual Caribean party called "Caribanna" and they had their closing party the same night he was recording drums for the song Bhopal. Even though their party was two floors above the studio the bass bled into the overhead microphones. You can still hear parts of it in Bhopal. Eventually Bob toured with his first group .Bob Wiseman and the Monkey Wrench.

Bob's next record is Presented by Lake Michigan Soda  produced by bob's grandmothers' grandson.
